Acharacle Community Centre

The Acharacle Community Centre is one of the main hubs for the local community of Acharacle and surrounds.  It hosts local meetings and supports the community through lunch clubs, meeting rooms and a reuse project.  There is a washing machine available for hire as well as shower facilites.

Acharacle Recycling Point

The recycling centre in Acharacle has facilities for recycling mixed glass.  There are several large containers and a convenient parking area.  The public toilets are nearby so you can wash your hands after recycling.  Once you have recycled your bottles you can restock at the Village Store which is situated a hop and a skip away.

There are also a couple of large waste bins for visitor use.  Please do not place large items in the bins or use them if they are overflowing.  Please help to keep the centre of Acharacle clean and tidy.

Shielbridge Hall

Shielbridge Hall in the centre of Acharacle hosts regular dances, ceilidhs and community events throughout the year.  There are regular produce markets over the summer months with lunches provided by the local community.

The Salen Jetty Shop

If you are looking for an Ice Cream, wander no more...  The Salen Jetty Shop has a great selection as well as coffees, snacks and mouth watering bacon sandwiches; something to satisfy everyone on their road or boat trip to Ardnamurchan.

The Salen Jetty Shop has a good selection of fresh vegetables, local meat, dairy produce, wines and whiskies as well as other holiday essentials. Catch up with the local news with Dè tha Dol, buy a national snoozepaper or connect to their wifi to share your holiday snaps.

Loch Sunart Yarns and Buttons

Just a short walk from the jetty in Salen, Loch Sunart Yarns & Buttons offers a range of hand spun, exotic silk blend, yarns for the discerning knitter, along with a range of wonderful natural shell, horn and wooden buttons to accessorise. Cashmere, alpaca, camel down, rare breed sheep wool and silk, in a range of natural colours for your own unique and indivual project.

Yarns & Crafts is a gift shop with a difference, housing a spinning business and also providing  a range of interesting and unusual crafts, gifts and cards for you to investigate.

Kilchoan Visitor Showers and Toilets

These toilets and showers and situated next to The Ferry Stores and a short walk from Kilchoan Jetty.  Open daily from 09:00-20:00 and longer during the summer months these facilites are open to the public, campers and maritime visitors.  Showers cost £1 per shower and all proceeds go to the upkeep of Kilchoan Jetty which is also run by The West Ardnamurchan Jetty Association as a free facility for visitors to launch and retrieve boats.
