Ardshealach Smokehouse

The smokehouse in the wee village of Glenuig and has been smoking away since the 1980s and became part of Ardshealach Fine Foods in 2013. The smokehouse team specialise in creating small batches of smoked fish, meats and cheese. Pop into the shop to take away or order online for delivery. Either way, you'll be sure to enjoy the smoked, salmon, haddock, mussels, kippers, duck breast, bacon, chedar, stilton, Locheil brie, Lochaber cheese and more...

Gift hampers are also available and, if you are holidaying locally, you may also be arrange delivery to your self catering cottage.

Ardnamurchan Distillery

Ardnamurchan Distillery was opened in July 2014 by HRH The Princess Royal and has been producing two signature styles of whisky ever since. Tours and tastings and run between Easter and October and cost from £8 per person for the standard tour to £40 per person for the Manager's Tour.  The Manager's Tour takes 90 minutes and includes 4 drams recommended by The Manager.

There is a gift shop from which you may purchase a wide range of limited edition whiskies and other gift items. The Distillery is open from 10:00 to 18:00 from Easter to October.

The Salen Jetty Shop

As well as stocking a range of groceries, fresh vegetables and local produce, The Salen Jetty Shop has a couple of tables where you can enjoy a freshly brewed coffee, light snack or ice cream. There is a good selection of home baking including homemade sausage rolls and pork pies. Sandwiches and snacks are available to both eat in and take away.

The nearby Jetty is a great place to look out for signs of otter and maybe even take a dip.

The Glenuig Inn

With it's range of real ales, organic wines and natural soft drinks you are sure to find a wholesome accompaniment for your dining choice. The menu at The Glenuig Inn reflects it's coastal location and typically includes smoked salmon, mussels and prawn tails as well as Scottish field and game. The menu is designed to be as healthy, natural and local as possible and deep fat food is not an option as this sustainable Inn does not have a deep fat fryer. Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten free, Nut free and Dairy free options are also available.

Mingarry Park Restaurant

Sit back and admire the views of Ben Resipole as you enjoy some modern Scottish cuisine in the AA two rosette Mingarry Park Restaurant. With an ever changing menu based on local produce including locally stalked and butchered venison you are in for a real treat. A great way to relax after enjoying a day exploring the wonders of Moidart. Castle Tioram is a 10 minute drive away from Mingarry Park and should not be missed.

Mingarry Park also has a small shop selling venison when in season and the team there is always ready to provide tips on preparation and cooking of the venison.

Ardnamurchan Lighthouse Cafe

Be sure to have a wee cuppa in the most westerly cafe on the British mainland, and maybe some cake and ice cream too. Teas, coffee and other drinks are served in the Stables Coffee Shop, a charming restored stable with original cobbled floor and stone walls. As well as housing the coffee shop, the old stables block has a small shop selling locally themed crafts and souvenirs and is also the ticket office for tours up to the top of Ardnamurchan Lighthouse and to the exhibition centre.

Ardnamurchan Natural History Visitor Centre

Take time to learn about the wildlife and history of the Ardnamurchan Peninsula at The Ardnamurchan Natural History Visitor Centre and enjoy some tea and cake too. Breakfasts, light lunches, teas coffees, snacks and cakes are all served in the Lochview Tearoom with views over Loch Sunart. A great place to stop off on way to or from Ardnamurchan Point and also a destination in its own right with an exhibition highlighting the history and wildlife of the region. The RSPB reserve at Glenborrodale and The Ardnamurchan Distillery are also close by and well worth a visit too.

Ardshealach Lodge

Enjoy a pre dinner drink in the relaxed atmosphere of the sun room whilst choosing some seasonal and local produce from the regularly changing menu at Ardshealach Lodge. The relaxed, but stylish restaurant provides for a memorable dining experience with hearty portions of home cooked cuisine. Ardshealach Lodge is set in an extensive garden overlooking Loch Shiel from where many of the fruit and vegetables are sourced and picked freshly for your delight.

Very popular with Locals and visitors alike so booking is essential.

The Ariundle Centre

The Ariundle Centre is open all day for breakfasts, coffees and teas, light lunches and evening meals. Home baking is a speciality in this craft orientated centre and there is a daily selection of fresh cakes available to eat in and takeaway. Ideally located for an afternoon tea after going for a wander in the nearby Atlantic Oakwood at Ariundle, a National Nature Reserve, or a spot of breakfast if you are camping nearby. The Ariundle centre has a licensed bar and is a great place to relax or enjoy a candle lit dinner.

Cafe Tioram

Pop into the Cafe Tioram in the centre of Acharacle for a warm Highland welcome and a selection of fresh local produce and home baking. Be sure to try The Cafe Tioram breakfast complete with the house speciality of clootie dumpling - a real taste of the Highlands. Light lunches including salads, soups and sandwiches are all served together with a selection of delicious freshly baked cakes.
