Glengorm Castle and Grounds is a short drive  or cycle journey from Tobermory.  The grounds of the castle can be explored by foot and there are several circular for you to enjoy including one to some prehistoric standing stones. The grounds are wildlife rich and there are several ranger led walks during the summer months.  There is also a nature focused interpreation centre in The Old Stables where you can find out more about the local wildlife, rarities and local sightings and plan your own wildlife safari around the grounds.

Take a guided tour of Tobermory distillery founded in 1798. Tobermory Distillery, formerly  the Ledaig distillery, is one of the oldest commercial distilleries in Scotland  and the sole distillery in Mull.  It uses the traditional copper domed iron mash tun in the distilling of its spirits.  The Tobermory brand has been used for both the single malt and blended whisky. Tobermory is the main town (capital) in Mull on the north-east of the island. Its colourful buildings along the harbour have become famous in the children’s TV series, Balamory and are home to a wide variety of shops, restuarants, pubs, tearooms as well as The Mull Museum showcasing the history of Mull.  There is also a distillery, theatre, marine interpretation centre and several willdife tour comapnies start their Island tours from here.

Although The Tobermory Cat may be a fictitious character, you may well bump into him, or one of his friends, on Tobermory High Street.  A charismatic sort of guy, laid back, and on top of his game.  A highlight of many a day trip to Tobermory from Kilchoan and always a great photo opportunity.

Head south on a stunning coastal walk from the harbour at Tobermory to Aros Park which is signposted from The Mull Aquarium. This lovely forest park is owned by the Forestry Commission and was formerly the house and grounds of  Aros House (now demolished).  The focal point of Aros park is the lovely feature loch (Lochan a Ghurrabain), bejewelled with water lilies and surrounded by woodland.  Take a gentle stroll on the Lochan Trail around the loch.   Take a short detour to the old estate stone pier to be rewarded by fine…

Duart Castle is an impressive castle perched in a commanding position on a rocky promontory overlooking the Sound of Mull.  The castle dates back to the 13th century and is the ancestral home of Clan Maclean.  This stunning castle with its impressive fortifications has witnessed a turbulent history.
