Aros Park

Head south on a stunning coastal walk from the harbour at Tobermory to Aros Park which is signposted from The Mull Aquarium. This lovely forest park is owned by the Forestry Commission and was formerly the house and grounds of  Aros House (now demolished).  The focal point of Aros park is the lovely feature loch (Lochan a Ghurrabain), bejewelled with water lilies and surrounded by woodland.  Take a gentle stroll on the Lochan Trail around the loch.   Take a short detour to the old estate stone pier to be rewarded by fine views of the picturesque village of Tobermory.  Take time to admire the impressive waterfalls along Aros Burn (The Waterfalls Trail).  Head up hill to the lookout point (Alainn View) for stunning views across the burn and bay.  Details of these and other local walks can be found on the interpretation board in the car park.  There is also a play trail for children, and benches to contemplate the beauty and tranquillity of the surroundings.

The route to Aros Park is mainly on a gravel track through mixed deciduous coastal woodland.  The walk to Aros Park takes around an hour each way, so there is plenty of tme to enjoy this lovely walk and park on your day trip from Ardnamurchan.
